🌄 Muktinath Temple: A Sacred Himalayan Confluence
Perched at an altitude of 3,800 meters in Nepal’s serene Mustang district, Muktinath Temple is a rare and revered spiritual haven — cherished by both Hindus and Buddhists alike.
For Hindus, this sacred site is known as Mukti Kshetra — the “Place of Liberation.” Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is famed for its 108 holy water spouts, believed to cleanse sins and grant moksha (spiritual freedom).
To Buddhists, it is Chumig Gyatsa, meaning “Hundred Waters,” a place of deep reverence associated with Avalokiteśvara (Chenrezig), the Bodhisattva of Compassion. A mystical eternal flame, fueled by natural gas, flickers inside the temple, symbolizing the unity of earth, fire, and spirit.
